ABOUT THE TDL OER USERS GROUP The TDL OER Users Group (OUG) encourages the widespread use of open educational resources (OER) across Texas institutions by creating opportunities for open education advocates and practitioners to come together to exchange information and create resources for TDL members and the broader OER community. The meeting will be led by Users Group chair Sabrina Davis (Texas Tech University Libraries) and vice-chair Kate McNally Carter (University of Houston Libraries). The TDL OER Users Group is open to faculty and staff at all TDL Member Institutions and meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month from 3-4PM CST. Join us on Zoom. No registration required.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an hour of GIS learning and fun! \nFrom 3-3:30pm\, Alex Marden (GIS and Geospatial data Coordinator with the UT Libraries) will lead a webinar entitled\, Fundamentals and Emerging Trends of GIS Data. Finding and accessing data to use in GIS software is a common task for librarians\, but GIS data is highly varied and is often challenging to work with. In this webinar\, we will confront those challenges by covering the fundamentals\, highlighting valuable data sources and tools\, and exploring emerging trends in geospatial data accessibility. \nFrom 3:30-4pm\, we will play a group game of GeoGuessr (https://www.geoguessr.com/). GeoGuessr is a geography game which takes you on a journey around the world and challenges your ability to recognize your surroundings. DESCRIPTION:Texas Digital Library’s DSpace Users Group (DUG) works to create an active community among DSpace users that: \n\nfacilitates mutual support for DSpace use and repository management;\nidentifies areas of work that could be taken on by member working groups or by TDL staff;\nconnects the TDL DSpace user community to the larger open source DSpace community in North America.\n\nTDL’s DUG meets monthly every fourth Monday of the month from 3pm — 4pm\, CST. Any users of DSpace\, regardless of TDL membership\, may attend user group meetings and join the DSpace Users Group email list.
