Membership in the Texas Digital Library (TDL) is available to accredited nonprofit institutions of higher education, accredited public libraries, or other non-profit collecting institutions that desire to support the mission of the Texas Digital Library and participate in its resource-sharing activities. TDL offers two categories of membership.
Regular Membership

- Provides access to TDL Scholarly communication services that disseminate your institution’s scholarship widely, increasing research impact and elevating institutional reputation.
- Offer institutions the cost advantage of combining resources in a shared infrastructure.
- Provides shared software engineering and systems management staff for key scholarly communications services.
- Sustains and influences development of open source and community-owned infrastructure in the interest of its members and the broader scholarly ecosystem.
- Facilitates institutional control of user data, digital content, and related policy making.
- Provides Helpdesk Support and training for users of TDL services.
- Fosters a kind and mutually supportive community of library workers, faculty members, and others – giving them access to a broad community of experts and making their workloads more sustainable.
- Offers opportunities for collaboration across institutions to address common concerns.
- Convenes and connects members of the library, archives, and higher education communities on issues and projects of importance.
- Connects our regional community and collections to national and international initiatives like the Digital Public Library of America.
- Helps institutions promote their news, job postings, and initiatives through TDL channels.
