Networking Opportunities at TCDL 2025

We are looking forward to seeing you in Austin, Texas for the Texas Conference on Digital Libraries (TCDL), happening May 20-22, 2025!

In celebrating 20 years of Texas Digital Library, we anticipate many returning and new TCDL attendees joining us at this year’s conference. We want to make sure that everyone’s experience at TCDL is welcoming, enjoyable, and educational. With that goal in mind, we have developed several networking opportunities to help both new and returning attendees connect throughout the conference.

Not Sure Who’s New?

Spot other first-time attendees by their “New Bee” ribbon along with their name tag. If you’re looking for a buddy with more TCDL experience, returning attendees will have a “Been There Done That” ribbon with their name tag.

Pick up your ribbon at the Networking sessions located in the Longhorn room at the Commons Conference Center.

Day 2 | Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 9:00 am

New Bees
As a first-time attendee, you’ll have the chance to engage with fellow librarians, archivists, and library professionals, sharing best practices and exploring innovative solutions in our field. This event is designed to foster collaboration and professional growth, ensuring you leave with valuable insights and new connections. Experienced attendees are encouraged to attend this session. Arts & Crafts
Need a break from presentations? Want to show off your crafting skills? This is the session for you. This session will focus on making connections through arts and crafts. No matter if you knit, crochet, draw, or color we want you to meet up with your fellow craft lovers during this one hour session. Give yourself a break from the technical library presentations and put on your creative crafting hat to show off those skills. Session details.

Looking to Connect?

We hope you will reach out to other conference attendees before and during TCDL. You can do this by joining the TDL Community Slack. Search for the #tcdl-2025 channel for this year’s conference attendees. Looking to make plans for dinner, shopping, or transportation? Check out the unofficial Dine-Around resource. Please note that any reservations, carpooling, and other details are to be arranged by attendees. See our Local Resources page for shops and guidance on what to do when you’re in town.

Check out the schedule to plan your conference experience.

Tips for Attendees

  • Create an agenda of sessions you want to attend. Be sure to bookmark the TCDL 2025 page on your devices.
  • If a session is particularly important to you, arrive early! Some rooms will reach capacity quickly and arriving late could mean you won’t get a seat.
  • If you have questions throughout the conference, please stop by the check-in table.
  • Take a second to say hello to other attendees! Introduce each other to your colleagues, sit with new friends during a session, and make plans to connect during lunch.
